Purchase Tarkett iQ Optima Medium Grey 853 Homogeneous Vinyl 6.56′ Wide if your project calls for serious durability in a heavy commercial setting. This is a true workhorse – it’s built for long days, high foot traffic, and industrial spaces where flooring can’t be an afterthought. At 2 mm thick and 6 feet 6 inches wide, it covers ground quickly and makes larger installations less of a headache, especially if you’re trying to minimize seams for both looks and maintenance.
The Medium Grey 853 is a practical, neutral shade that reads modern but never harsh; it pairs with just about any palette or lighting without fighting the rest of the space. That directional pattern in the surface gives it some visual movement – the kind that hides scuffs from rolling carts or heavy usage. You get heavy commercial and industrial use built in from the ground up, not just the top coat.
If maintenance is on your radar, the New iQ PUR finish lets you avoid the usual waxing schedules you see on lesser-grade vinyls. Routine cleaning stays straightforward and, when it does need freshening up, the surface can be dry-buff restored so it keeps that new look without repeated heavy refinishing. The whole construction is homogeneous – no laminate layers to delaminate, just the same wear resistance from top to bottom.
Installation is glue down, which is pretty much the gold standard in this category for areas where you absolutely cannot have shifting or curling at the edges. You’re dealing with a U.S.-made product here – always clear to see the attention to manufacturing and quality control in every batch. The commercial warranty runs 20 years, which is above the usual for this segment.
Width and length make it viable for long corridors, atriums, or anywhere you want a uniform floor with minimal seams. Each roll runs 82 feet 7 inches in length, so you can map out large, high-traffic spaces with less waste. For those researching commercial vinyl, details like “no waxing” true heavy-traffic rating, and long-run sizing aren’t afterthoughts – they’re requirements.
