A barrel bolt is a security fastener designed for lightweight doors, cabinets, chests, and other enclosures. This National Hardware model provides an affordable way to secure storage compartments and prevent accidental opening. The stainless steel construction offers a clean, attractive appearance suitable for a variety of applications.
The barrel bolt operates by sliding a cylindrical bolt into a catch, where a notch in the case holds it securely in the locked position. This simple mechanism works on doors and lids that need flexible security without keys or complex hardware. Installation can be adapted to right or left-hand applications, making it versatile for different door orientations and mounting preferences.
