The Irwin 49912 Solid Center Auger Bit is a full-length heat-treated drill bit designed for boring in both hard and soft woods. The solid center construction with wide lands keeps the bit straight as it bores through the hole. The flutes are ground behind the lands to funnel chips to the inside of the bit and away from the outside diameter, producing a faster, cleaner cut.

A single spur cutting edge scribes the circumference of the hole for a smoother finish. The coarse screw point provides fast boring in hard and soft woods. Full-length heat treatment strengthens the twist where the greatest strain occurs, guarding against bending in heavy-duty applications and delivering reliable performance for woodworking and general boring tasks.

Features and Benefits
